National museum

This is an awesome location to visit for history lovers. The museum was first established on 11th November 1952. It is a 3-story stone building constructed during the colonial period. It contains artifacts from the ancient ruling period like their armors, weapons, safety gear, and many other remnants of the dynastic rule. It also houses several exhibits reflecting both Buddhism and Islam. The museum has an entry fee of MVR100 for adults and MVR 20 for children. The visiting hours are from 10 AM to 5 PM every day except on Fridays when it is closed. You might not get an immediate time slot if you go directly to the museum. It is best to book a slot beforehand.
